Angel on My Shoulder

Who can I thank for what I have got?
I could easily say what I have not.
But I’m still better off than many.
I respect those who don’t have any.
Just a smile, just a word, just a look or an open door
Can save a soul from wanting more.
Looking back as I grow older
There must have been an Angel On My Shoulder.

My acts of kindness I expect
To have a butterfly effect.
Some distant good in some far off nation
By some nth degree of separation.

Just a smile, just a word, just a look or an open door
Can save a soul from wanting more.
Looking back as I grow older
There must have been an Angel On My Shoulder.

Who made this moment in time and space
To make the bad so easy to replace.
Who can I thank for what I have got?
Are you listening Angel thanks a lot.

Looking back as I grow older
There must have been an Angel On My Shoulder.

There must have been an Angel On My Shoulder.
